Some trace elements (Li, K, Mn, Se, Rb, Cs) are dosed in cow and sheep cheeses coming from three different geographical areas in order to identify their place of origin. The samples were obtained from milk collected during the winter and the spring for two production years. It has been pointed out that it was possible to discriminate the place of origin of cheeses clearly, regardless of their type (cow or sheep). Furthermore, if a data set related to only sheep samples is used, it is only necessary to dose the alkali elements (Li, K, Rb), whereas if a data set regarding the cow cheeses is considered, all six elements analysed are taken into consideration in order to obtain a significant differentiation between the regions.

Abstract
Some trace elements (Li, K, Mn, Se, Rb, Cs) are dosed in cow and sheep cheeses coming from three different geographical areas in order to identify their place of origin. The samples were obtained from milk collected during the winter and the spring for two production years. It has been pointed out that it was possible to discriminate the place of origin of cheeses clearly, regardless of their type (cow or sheep). Furthermore, if a data set related to only sheep samples is used, it is only necessary to dose the alkali elements (Li, K, Rb), whereas if a data set regarding the cow cheeses is considered, all six elements analysed are taken into consideration in order to obtain a significant differentiation between the regions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
