The contribution proposes a reading of the plan for the foundation of the new town of Ostia Marittima (Rome, Italy), drawn by Cultori-di-Architettura in 1916, through comparison of the original archive documents—both iconographic and textual—and the images kept from the eye of Google. The aim is to retrace some of the principles of a plan, that is still revealing an urban landscape characterized by masterpieces of architecture. The reading of the archive drawings and the report to the project, published in 1916 in the yearbook of AACAR—i.e. Associazione Artistica Cultori di Architettura—highlights the fascinating attitude of ‘integral architects’ that aim to create an original bathing district in which each part has specific role in harmony with the landscape. Synchronous reading of the original drawings and project report together with the images offered by Google’s eye allows us—in the centenary from his foundation—to retrace on the one hand, an intense story of the architecture of the Roman School and, on the other to identify pieces of an architectural and cultural heritage that maintains some qualities and uniqueness.
