SIBE MILICIC’S INSULAR SOLAR (NON-)SPACE In this paper, Sibe Miličić’s Hronika potonulog ostrva (Chronicle of the Sunken Island, 1928) is analyzed. This narrative composition consists of two parts, More (The Sea) and Tajna jednog zločina (The Secret of a Crime) which are both set within the framework of the unique literary and anthropological metaphor of insularity. In the closed and insular environment of the island primordial urges come to resurface and collide. Miličić’s island is thus a microcosm of society that suggests an impending apocalypse. Keywords: Sibe Miličić, Chronicle of the Sunken Island, insularity.
