The subject of the study is the archaeological site which preserves the monumental remains of the ancient greek city of Elea-Velia, accounted as one of the cradles of philosophy and medicine. Starting from the reading of the ruins that are currently revealed by the excavations, it was possible to reach aquite deep knowledge of the urban structure of this city and it clearly comes up the problem about its transmission and its comprehension that park’s guest have to deal with. The wall’s extent surfaced at the moment is not so significant to let understand the splendours of such an ancient and prestigious culture. Therefore, the first goal the project sets is revealing the past glory through the enhancement of what is still in front of our eyes and the reconstruction of what now is missing. Everything without losing sight of the very valuable landscape where archaeological ruins are placed, treasuring it indeed and embracing it in the planning concept as an essential part of the creative process. The final outcome proves to have an highly scenographic impact and tries to recreate the same exchanging dialogue between human beings and space established centuries ago in those places.
