The objective of this article is to present the preliminary results of an environmental sustainability study associated with the “Autoctonie” project, promoted in 2018 by the Fashion and Agribusiness Sections of Confindustria Chieti Pescara (Abruzzo, Italy). The objective is to promote the revitalization of a short ovine supply chain based on wool and meat produced in the region. The supply chain will be analyzed by referring to two scenarios, elaborated according to Industrial Ecology approaches: a current one, in which the companies involved in the project are forced to purchase raw materials from foreign markets and a prospective one in which through the maximization of synergies deriving from a local supply chain, we can promote the use of products, by-products and derivatives of sheep breeding (in particular wool and meat, but also milk and leather) by local companies.
