The investigation on the transformations of Pescara starts from the reading of the city as protagonist of the urban system formed with Chieti, Spoltore, Città Sant'Angelo, Francavilla al Mare. To develop this research, the city has been divided into were analyzed five quadrants: within these macro-compartments the new dynamics, focusing on the most important projects being implemented and how they tend to change the character of the part of the city. The has been verified the tendency to be "just a city of houses" and the need for urban regeneration to be realize by new systems of public spaces of metropolitan scale and symbolic value. This direction of project research preludes to the identification of the idea of a city that can coordinate the urban transformations described.
