According to OPCM 3274 and a Marche Government Bylaw, the seismic assessment and retrofitting of a building have been carried out. The building is located 60 km away from the Epicenter of 1997 Umbria-Marche Earthquake (September 27th, 1997; ). The site was classified as 2nd category seismic zone in OPCM 3274 with seismic input parameters peak ground acceleration ( ), local amplification factor ( ) and control period ( ). Structural detail analysis and destructive tests on in-situ samples were carried out. A relevant seismic fragility have been detected, partially due to poor concrete characteristics. The paper essentially describes one of the building of the complex. This is a RC building, two storeys with vaulted brick ceiling (rectangular in plan, 59.50×18.50 sqm first floor, 23.70×14.50 sqm partially underground floor). Seismic upgrading has been obtained creating seismic joints with respect to adjacent buildings and inserting dissipative bracing. RC columns with steel bracing are strengthened by means of steel plates while the vaulted roof system has been braced by means of steel beams.

Abstract
RC columns with steel bracing are strengthened by means of steel plates while the vaulted roof system has been braced by means of steel beams.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
