The Introduction describes the content of essays divided into three sections: Management, Knowledge and Project, corresponding to the three critical moments of managing a school network; these parts should not be seen as distinct areas of study, but as interdependent phases of a complex process designed to ensure equal opportunities of access to educational spaces of an adequate size as well as resources suitable to educational success. The theme is school construction, which belongs to the tradition of architectural and urban research. It covers crucial issues, such as: the relationship with the place, the typological investigation, the relationships between the spaces and their mode of aggregation, the need to ensure the flexible use of space, ergonomics, the definition of the construction system, the monitoring of well-being, the pursuit of an economy that encompasses all the intervention from the conception to its management, the relationship between architecture and education.
