This paper deals with a Croatian Visio Philiberti: it is about Josip Stojanović’s poem, Tuxba dushe i tila (1794) that although belongs to the Enlightenment, does not contain the literary features of that period, and it actually belongs at the end of a centuries-long Christian tradition of the medieval type. The paper specifically deals with the incipit of the poem, or the segments that relate to the dream and the vision of St. Bernard, that is to say with the debate between the Body and the Soul, which was very common in European literature.

The paper specifically deals with the incipit of the poem, or the segments that relate to the dream and the vision of St. Bernard, that is to say with the debate between the Body and the Soul, which was very common in European literature.
