Sime Ljubić u okviru italijanske inicijative „Biblioteka dalmatinske kulture“

This paper analyzes the contribution of Croatian historian, archaeologist and biographer Šime Ljubić (1822-1896) to the Italian initiative “The Library of Dalmatian culture”. The initiative constitutes an important key to understanding Italian-Yugoslav relations between the two world wars. Lawyer and member of the Fascist Party Arturo Aurelio published a series of works related to relations between the two coasts, and among these publications was I grandi Dalmati nel solco di Roma (1938), which contains fourteen entries from the dictionary of Šime Ljubić, Dizionario biografico degli uomini illustri della Dalmazia (Vienna-Zara 1856). With this publication Arturo Aurelio contributed to the propaganda of Mussolini and commemorated the establishment of positive political and economic relations between Italy and Yugoslavia after the visit of Galeazzo Ciano to Belgrade in March of 1937. У овом раду се разматра присуство дела хрватског полихистора Шиме Љубића (1822-1896) у оквиру иницијативе „Библиотека далматинске културе“ која је покренута у Италији за време фашизма. Ова иницијатива је у уској вези са односима између Италије и Југославије, нарочито после посете италијанског министра Београду марта 1837. године. Уредник је био Артуро Аурелио који је из Љубићевог биографског речника врсних Далматинаца, Dizionario biografico degli uomini illustri della Dalmazia (1856) преузео четрнаест одредница и објавио их 1938. године под насловом I grandi Dalmati nel solco di Roma, у намери да подржи жеље италијанске владе за успешним успостављањем политичких и економских односа између Италије и Југославије.
