In contemporary geographical thought, the earth-sea relationship has undergone a deep conceptual revision. They have moved from the separate reading of the coastal morphology - the oceanographic conditions, the human settlement linked to marine reality, the consequent economic activities and the sharp distinction between hinterland and seafront – to an integral reading of what has been defined as maritime-litoral interface, that is more and more active and dynamic process of getting coastal all the urban-industrial functions and of getting regionalized all the maritime space. Such approach turns out to be particularly stimulating as regards the study of Abruzzo region. In fact, this region from the 19th century, has changed radically its territorial structure in favour of the enlargement of its coastal space which has been transformed from a simple transitional space to a space of relation. Nevertheless the process of maritime-coastal regionalization developed partially, trying to “relocate” the shore line within the hinterland, by interactive terms, but without involving the sea façade which presents fitfully relations together with the territory.

Abstract
Nevertheless the process of maritime-coastal regionalization developed partially, trying to “relocate” the shore line within the hinterland, by interactive terms, but without involving the sea façade which presents fitfully relations together with the territory.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
