The importance of drawing in architecture, both in historic studies and the planning process, has long been established. This article sets an example through the graphic analysis of another of Brasini's eclectic works: the Palazzo del Podestà (Towm Mayor), built between 1928 and 1933 in Foggia as part of a large project in which the leading architects of the time -Piacentini, Bazzani and Foschini- were also employed. Brasini's original drawings, preserved in the city archives, confirm the architect's theatrical attitude: great importance is given to the different views in perspective, which complement the building's articulate and monumental structure. The three-dimensional renderings by the author of the article emphasize this aspect as the most significant: in fact the existing palace was built according to the project, but with a progressive simplification of the decorative details.

Abstract
The importance of drawing in architecture, both in historic studies and the planning process, has long been established. This article sets an example through the graphic analysis of another of Brasini's eclectic works: the Palazzo del Podestà (Towm Mayor), built between 1928 and 1933 in Foggia as part of a large project in which the leading architects of the time -Piacentini, Bazzani and Foschini- were also employed. Brasini's original drawings, preserved in the city archives, confirm the architect's theatrical attitude: great importance is given to the different views in perspective, which complement the building's articulate and monumental structure. The three-dimensional renderings by the author of the article emphasize this aspect as the most significant: in fact the existing palace was built according to the project, but with a progressive simplification of the decorative details.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
