The current paper presents the first results of an ongoing research activity which aims at investigating the behaviour of aluminium beam-to-column joints. In particular, a wide parametric study, developed on the basis of reliable FEM numerical models and carried out in order to determine the influence of the used alloy on the strength of aluminium column web in tension, is described. In a first phase, the calibration process is implemented in order to validate, on the basis of experimental tests retrieved by literature, the proposed models. Then, alloys characterized by different hardening and ductility are analysed, in order to understand their influence on the resisting mechanisms of the studied component. Finally, the obtained outcomes are interpreted for providing suitable formulations to be adopted in Codes and Guidelines.

Abstract
Finally, the obtained outcomes are interpreted for providing suitable formulations to be adopted in Codes and Guidelines.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
