Social planning is founded on theoretical and methodological importance in the field of applied sociology. In applied sociology, concepts, theories, models and patterns of explanation are used for the study of social phenomena. The methods of social research are designed to identify, describe and explain the social needs of individuals, groups and communities. In this paper are described the methods of analysis of social needs and building models of local welfare in Italy.

Abstract
