Educational objectives set for the teaching of Russian language in first degree courses of Italian universities require the acquisition of appropriate skills for reading and analysis of authentic texts in the foreign language, as well as the introduction to languages for special purposes, to translation practice and to interpreting. For Italian-speaking learners, generally beginners, achieving this ambitious goal is much more difficult because of the typological distance between Italian and Russian languages. The study of morphosyntactic structures, therefore, has to be introduced with care and attention, in order to optimize the development of basic skills of production and comprehension. The paper offers some theoretical and practical considerations about the concepts of "explicit grammar" and "pedagogical translation" as support elements in basic and intermediate level courses for Italian-speaking learners.

Abstract
Educational objectives set for the teaching of Russian language in first degree courses of Italian universities require the acquisition of appropriate skills for reading and analysis of authentic texts in the foreign language, as well as the introduction to languages for special purposes, to translation practice and to interpreting. For Italian-speaking learners, generally beginners, achieving this ambitious goal is much more difficult because of the typological distance between Italian and Russian languages. The study of morphosyntactic structures, therefore, has to be introduced with care and attention, in order to optimize the development of basic skills of production and comprehension. The paper offers some theoretical and practical considerations about the concepts of "explicit grammar" and "pedagogical translation" as support elements in basic and intermediate level courses for Italian-speaking learners.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
