Polymer-based nanocomposites have found extensive applications in energy storage devices for lightweight, safe, and sustainable energy future. For lithium-based batteries, such as lithium-ion, lithium-oxygen, and lithium-sulfur batteries, polymer nanocomposites have been applied for a variety of components from electrodes, electrolytes, binders, and separators, due to their tailorable structures and properties. This chapter will provide a critical overview of the state-of-the-art technologies of polymer nanocomposites for batteries, technological challenges, innovative designs, and future perspectives.
