Cittadinanza musicale. Saperi, pratiche, istituzioni

This contribution is based on a phenomenological concept of ‘artistic citizenship’ to be examined starting from its two fundamental components: the ‘political’ perspective, conceived in its overall meaning, and the ‘artistic’ perspective, interpreted as knowledge, experience and as an institution. After having evoked a fundamental and initial feature of human experience, that is to say the interplay between imagination and technology, this document hints at the complexity of the artistic and musical practices of contemporary world and the need of a thorough reconsideration of the concept of ‘creativity’ in relation to our global digital life. Finally, in reference to an emblematic project by Giuseppe Sinopoli and the overall experience that derives from it, this paper suggests that the current historical circumstances represent both a challenge and a risk but also a profound legitimacy and cultural revival of an institution of high artistic, musical and choreutics training as is the Conservatory.
