This chapter provides an introduction to the lists of books owned by religious orders on the Italian peninsula sent to Rome in reply to the request of the Roman Congregation of the Index after the publication of the Clementin Index (1596) and now collected in the Vatican Library (Vat. Lat. 11266-11326), by focusing on the inventories of a few libraries of Servite authors at the end of the sixteenth century.
