The book aims to provide an overview of possible ways of contrasting such leading, “top-down” philosophical-political approach. It takes the move from vulnerability and dependence, in order to redefine the perception of what has value (from a political, biological, psychological, philosophical point of view). This will be attained through an intersectional approach (Crenshaw 1989), such as that developed by feminism at the end of the last century, in interaction with the perspective of “standpoint epistemology” (Harding 1986). The aim is to evaluate the persistence of discriminatory attitudes in scientific and medical research protocols and public-health practices.

Abstract
The book aims to provide an overview of possible ways of contrasting such leading, “top-down” philosophical-political approach. It takes the move from vulnerability and dependence, in order to redefine the perception of what has value (from a political, biological, psychological, philosophical point of view). This will be attained through an intersectional approach (Crenshaw 1989), such as that developed by feminism at the end of the last century, in interaction with the perspective of “standpoint epistemology” (Harding 1986). The aim is to evaluate the persistence of discriminatory attitudes in scientific and medical research protocols and public-health practices.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
