Abstract
The theme of industrial archeology is central today in the debate on the fate of the existing. However, some questions remain unanswered when it comes to deciding conservation programs and projects. If the fact that industrial heritage belongs to the great family of cultural assets is now established, there are some trends that seem to contradict this acceptance. If, on the one hand, institutions struggle to recognize its validity for conservation purposes, on the other, there are objective difficulties in building conservation and restoration programs that are economically sustainable. The great question of industrial archeology is that of a conservation capable of guaranteeing the understanding of historical values, as well as spatial and figurative ones, bearing witness to important phases in the development of a community. The values conveyed by an artifact of industrial archeology, to any period it refers to, in fact refer to the history of work, businesses and the working classes, but also of technology, the economy and politics in the broadest sense.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
