The collection as a whole explores feminist debates on women, technology and the body; gender representation and the posthuman; post-gender figurations; gender and transhumanism; gender and (post)humanism; gender and biotechnology/biopolitics/bioethics; feminist posthumanism; animal, human-machine, ecological posthumanism and new materialism. The various chapters in this collection explore how fruitful and vital these themes are for reading the works of writers from the late nineteenth to the twenty-first century, and for understanding the concept of identity, individuality, embodiment and entanglement in an ever-changing society. The ten chapters in this volume address aspects of the relationship between gender and posthumanism from different perspectives and in different texts.
