The text examines the phenomenon of «platformization» of narration and information, emphasizing how reading aloud and audioplays on various platforms are innovating public storytelling. The practice of reading aloud has been present since ancient times, and even authors like Giacomo Leopardi have talked about it, ironically commenting on its spread and suggesting the idea of an «academy of listening.» Today, reading aloud takes on new forms thanks to digital technology and podcasts, proving to be a rising communicative practice, especially among young people. Journalistic podcasts, along with the audioplays of media outlets, show how vocal reading is changing the consumption of informative content. Podcasts allow people to listen to news during other activities and customize narratives, while the art of voice in films reflects the importance and impact of reading aloud in society. Moreover, the text emphasizes the educational role of reading aloud and how it can be seen as a complementary medium to visual reading. Fi nally, it highlights the changing reading habits with digitalization and the «platformization» of culture, while recognizing the need to preserve and value the pleasure of listening and reading in a connected society.
