The paper deals with the interface between cognitive processes and writing mistakes in the Hittite cuneiform. After a theoretical introduction aimed at presenting the key concepts in the analysis of cognitive processes related to handwriting, we will present a selection of non-trivial mistakes in Hittite cuneiform, trying to link each of them to its respective cause at the cognitive level. Finally, the Appendix provides a provisional typology of mistakes in the Anatolian hieroglyphic writing based on the typology established by Cotticelli Kurras (2007) and confirmed by Busse (2015) for the Hittite language.

Abstract
The paper deals with the interface between cognitive processes and writing mistakes in the Hittite cuneiform. After a theoretical introduction aimed at presenting the key concepts in the analysis of cognitive processes related to handwriting, we will present a selection of non-trivial mistakes in Hittite cuneiform, trying to link each of them to its respective cause at the cognitive level. Finally, the Appendix provides a provisional typology of mistakes in the Anatolian hieroglyphic writing based on the typology established by Cotticelli Kurras (2007) and confirmed by Busse (2015) for the Hittite language.File in questo prodotto:
