The paper outlines the benefits of employing plural approaches in teaching minority languages, emphasizing the intercomprehension approach which served as the methodological framework for the Intercomprendiamo project. This pilot project has been designed to integrate the teaching of curricular foreign languages with Cimbrian, an ancient German minority language nowadays spoken in the enclave of Luserna, in the province of Trento (Italy). It represents a first in the Italian Lower Secondary School educational contest and aims at increasing pupils’ motivation to learn Cimbrian.
