The Gargano promontory is historically a crossroads of faith and culture, marked by the presence of ancient abbeys and significant pilgrimage routes. This article analyzes the historical and architectural evolution of these monastic complexes, with particular attention to the Benedictine abbey of SS. Trinità, and investigates their religious and cultural role within the context of Gargano’s devotional pathways. The primary objective is to outline a comprehensive framework of knowledge that can serve as a foundation for conscious restoration interventions, aimed not only at material preservation but also at the safeguarding and enhancement of the collective memory associated with these sites.
