Abstract
Beginning in the years following the First World War, while Chieti’s urban fabric was affected by targeted interventions aimed at the “liberation” of the existing building fabric, growing interest was directed towards the lower part of the city, where the first industrial activities had become established. In 1938, the arrival of Cellulosa d’Italia and its associated workers’village marked a turning point in the development of Chieti Scalo. Conceived in 1937 by Concezio Petrucci and based on the principles of zoning theory, the first Master Plan remained unimplemented. It was, however, partially revived in the 1957 Master Plan, which initiated the decisive expansion of Chieti Scalo.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
