In this paper results of shaking table tests on a 3D infilled r.c. frame are shown. These tests were carried out to study infilled frames seismic response. The structure specimen, one-storey one-bay, was designed according to old seismic Italian Code. Test sequences were an alternation of elastic white noise tests, both in one direction and the other, carried out for structural frequencies evaluation and mono-directional or bi-directional tests. This sequence was used both for r.c. bare frame (1st sequence) and for two different r.c. infilled frame configurations (2nd and 3rd sequences). Maximum peak ground acceleration was increased up to failure of infill panels with openings (2nd sequence) while no global collapse (3rd sequence) was detected at higher seismic level. In order to calibrate numerical models in r.c. infilled frame analysis (either strut or FEM approaches), response in terms of horizontal displacement in r.c. frame and in infill panel is discussed here.
