Objectives. After implant insertion and loading, crestal bone usually undergoes remodelling and resorption. If the horizontal relationship between the outer edge of implant and a smaller-diameter abutment (platform switching) is altered, there seems to be a reduced crestal bone loss. Aim of this work has been to evaluate in vitro a new fixture-abutment connection with cone morse and screw. Materials and methods. Mechanical tests were carried out using a Lloyd LR30K Universal testing machine (Lloyd Instruments Ltd, UK). The load was applied on the coronal portion of the abutment with a crosshead speed of 10 mm/min. The fracture load data were automatically recorded using Nexigen software (Nexigen, Batch Version 4.0, Issue 23, Lloyd Instruments Ltd, UK). Results. The results show that the new fixture-abutment connection with cone morse and screw joint systems may fracture at 1,050 ± 60 N. Conclusions. The Authors conclude that these fixture-abutment connections with cone morse and screw are highly resistant.

Abstract
The Authors conclude that these fixture-abutment connections with cone morse and screw are highly resistant.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
