Many studies have shown the use of implants for supported mandibular overdentures significantly increase satisfaction and quality of life of edentulous patients. This procedure improves chewing ability also improves nutritional state. METHODS. Four transmucosal mini-screw ball implants (MIB) for overdentures were inserted in the inter-foramina region of the mandible of seven patients by a microinvasive one-step flapless surgical technique. All the patients were satisfied with retention and stability of their overdentures. DISCUSSION. This technique can also be used in "hight-risk" patients (for example, diabetes or anticoagulation therapy). Miniscrew implants are in many cases, a good clinical alternative to larger implants, since they enable to reduce surgical time, bleeding, post operative discomfort and healing time. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS. These results suggest that a mandibular overdenture retained by 4 MIB may be the best treatment option for edentulous patients with atrophic ridges.
