The Trabocco Turchinio, the only to be a local government’s property (quoted by Gabriele D’Annunzio in the “Trionfo della morte”), is part of an artefacts system of the Chieti province coastal area (we presented a Knowledge campaign and a maintenance and rehabilitation hypothesis in WCTE 2004 [1]). The rehabilitation and the valorisation process of the trabocco Turchinio took about 13 months, from June 2004 to July 2005. The design action referred to the “integrated conservation” that associates the 2 concepts of the conservation/restoration and the attribution of an appropriate use. Indeed the intervention aim was oriented to impede actions that could alter the authenticity of the recent past of the “fishing machine”, involving all the figures conscious of the complex and fragile heritage object of the intervention. This consciousness was the principal bond for the rehabilitation project of the trabocco. The intervention considered the need of giving to the Trabocco Turchinio a compatible function respect to its nature, also with the functional re-proposal of materials, coming from the neighbouring areas. This function should not involve great modifications. The consciousness of the evocative and suggestive character of this places, made us think that one could also develop a strong touring interest further than a cultural and scientific one, inducing us to consider that their conservation is more than a cultural duty, but also the essential economic requirement for an use compatible with their survival. In this paper, we want to go back over the most significant phases of the work, adopting a systemic breaking down of the trabocco, singling out and assessing the role that this kind of construction can have for a sustainable reference and to support the bathing resorts and equipments. In conclusion we present the results regarding the indications, first for an “active conservation” or “controlled transformation”, secondly for the rules for the new building of trabocchi. We propose, therefore, the suggestions to continue the tradition giving above all a new touring fruition model and the singling out of sustainability indicators for proposing equipments compatible respect to the studied coastal area.

Abstract
We propose, therefore, the suggestions to continue the tradition giving above all a new touring fruition model and the singling out of sustainability indicators for proposing equipments compatible respect to the studied coastal area.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
