A methodological proposal for planning and managing the maintenance of the schools of the Municipality of Porto

The text summarizes the contents of a methodological proposal in which a first definition of goals, contents, methods and instruments is made, aiming at optimizing the management and maintenance of the schools of the Municipality of Porto. The purpose was to define and operating model to help plan and guarantee safety and quality over time in the system subjected to experimentation. The system consists of the school network of the Municipality of Porto – in which roughly 60 building technologies, in utilization models and in the languages which have been employed in this building typology from the beginning of the last century up today – and the department of municipal maintenance.
