This paper shows the results of a research experience carried out on a significant body of original architectural competition drawings, with the aim to highlight a number of interesting aspects of architectural education and the communication of architectural ideas. This graphic evidence, connoted by its twofold nature of didactic experimentation and professional practice, anticipates the characteristics of the drawings produced by the protagonists of the so-called Roman School: multifaceted figures active as professors, designers and Masters.
