The red-figure calyx-krater, attributed to the Tithonos Painter (about 480 BC) and now in the Kunstsammlungen of Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Inv. S 508), has on one side Sappho and on the other a girl. The scene is inspired by Sappho’s so-called parting songs (cf. e.g. fr. V. 94).
