The recent discovery and publication of thousands of photographs taken during the 1930s by Le Corbusier, provides us with an important piece of the heterogeneous corpus of Corbusian iconography. This material reveals a significant element of the Master’s creative process and confirms an articulated way of thinking founded on a dialogue between text and image. The present text investigates images, travel notes, sketches, texts and photographs that expose the modus operandi of a Master who, with the accuracy of an architect, takes note of space, experimenting with the framing of images, juxtaposing texts and returning architecture to the fore.

Abstract
The recent discovery and publication of thousands of photographs taken during the 1930s by Le Corbusier, provides us with an important piece of the heterogeneous corpus of Corbusian iconography. This material reveals a significant element of the Master’s creative process and confirms an articulated way of thinking founded on a dialogue between text and image. The present text investigates images, travel notes, sketches, texts and photographs that expose the modus operandi of a Master who, with the accuracy of an architect, takes note of space, experimenting with the framing of images, juxtaposing texts and returning architecture to the fore.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
