Abstract

As part of the vaster development of an “Atlas of Virtual Living” we have elaborated a model for surveying architectural designs created for digital space. The survey is a broad thematic examination of leading examples of online creativity. The survey reveals the theme of recognising an aesthetic of virtual living and the historicisation of most significant examples. This theme requires unique processes of surveying able to map the diverse architectural conformations of cyberspace, which often allude to metaphors of the urban experience, from worlds to cities to maps.
