Geografia e storia di un costrutto dell’italiano regionale abruzzese: (non) ancora viene

The paper examines morphosyntactic features of construct ancora viene ‘he hasn’t come yet’ in regional Italian of Abruzzo and focuses attention on two constructs that are intermediates between regional Italian and standard Italian, the types non ancora viene and non ancora è venuto: in the first one is added the negation and in the second one also changes the tense, but in both cases the adverb is in preverbal position. The paper presents a documentation of these phenomena in diachronic perspective, illustrates current distribution area and wonders about their perception among speakers.
