The most translated Spanish-speaking author in Italian newspapers (La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, La Stampa) is undoubtely Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize in Literature in 2010, who has always combined his activity as a literary writer with a passion for journalism. This work analyses the way translation is carried out, by focusing on the amount of time given to the translator to perform his/her task and his/her invisibility, and on the main strategies which are applied to domesticate the text for its new Italian readers
