In this second part of the essay, the aim is to find evidence of the personal involvement of Bembo in the new editions of Petrarch and Dante, printed by Aldo and his heirs in 1514 and 1515. In opposition to the current opinion, the continuous philological work of Bembo on the fourteenth-century Tuscan texts and in particular on Petrarch’s verses will be demonstrated with new documents.
