Cultural heritage linked to industrial archeology in Abruzzo is very significant due to the location of buildings and factories in a very interesting area. However, they are still far from being considered part of the community, since they are neither acknowledged nor valued but abandoned and demolished. Such phenomenon appears evident in cities where industrial development has largely influenced urban growth and twentieth century activities. This study aims to create an awareness of the importance of restoring industrial sites in urban design, territory planning and even economic side. It might be the only guarantee for transforming industrial archeology into a common heritage and ensuring a future in the local development process. By restoring the most important buildings and attributing their past function to a current one, they can be valorized and utilized for many years to come.

It might be the only guarantee for transforming industrial archeology into a common heritage and ensuring a future in the local development process.
