The team of the Università di Chieti has been working in Cyrenaica since 1997 and it has been involved by the local Department of Archaeology in several projects, both in the Cyrene Museum and in its territory, which were aimed at creating a database of archaeological finds and sites. Since the beginning, the need for a systematic catalogue on digital bases was evident; such a database was planned as a tool for the study of sites and finds, as well as for sharing data and results with colleagues, archaeologists and technicians, both local and from other foreign missions.
