In the European context, the realization of the sustainable city has among its intervention priorities the social housing. The smart city is an important reference point for processes aiming to the optimization of the material and immaterial resources use and management through a concrete involvement of the communities. This work, is founded on the relation between smart city and smart buildings and defines a methodology for the resilience capabilities survey, which can project the housing systems in a sustainable dimension, also thanks to the inhabitants know-how in the resources management. The study tries to define orientations for reaching feasible results and has as experimentation context the city of Pescara (Abruzzi, Italy). Starting from the knowledge of a complex needs framework, given by the inhabitants requests, the management authority needs and the environmental criticalities, we search for a resilient dimension per triggering a regeneration process to be carried step by step.
