Drawing on a corpus of telephone-mediated conversations in the health care field we will concentrate on the interpreters’most relevant discursive initiatives, (non)renditions and face-working for the management of interactional power among participants, due to linguistic, cultural, social and epistemic asymmetry. We will also focus on the educational value of descriptive studies carried out from the Conversation Analysis approach for dialogue interpreters’training and general language learning.

Abstract
Drawing on a corpus of telephone-mediated conversations in the health care field we will concentrate on the interpreters’most relevant discursive initiatives, (non)renditions and face-working for the management of interactional power among participants, due to linguistic, cultural, social and epistemic asymmetry. We will also focus on the educational value of descriptive studies carried out from the Conversation Analysis approach for dialogue interpreters’training and general language learning.File in questo prodotto:
