In this contribution, childhood and parental responsibility become a field of reflection open to the contributions of educational research and the perspectives of legal research. On the one hand, the re- construction of the normative frames goes parallel to an analysis of the cultural changes in consideration of childhood. The “discovery” of the child as a social subject and as an autonomous entity of knowledge and cognitive exploration has consequently generated the need to rethink the “pedagogical body” and the “didactic clothes” within the complex educational system for childhood in a long-term perspective. On the other hand, in many respects, the investment in family education is be- coming increasingly central, calling attention and responsibility to the promotion of a more mature culture of parenthood. In this perspective, the investigation, based on the dialogue between different disciplinary fields, twirls around the configuration assumed in our system by the training role of the parental figure concerning the educational and train- ing choices of the child.
