The aim of this paper is to understand what the bottlenecks are for ageing workers in relation to technological innovation and how to help them in overcoming it. The paper is structured as follows. After the introduction, the second paragraph is devoted to the state of the art of the topic of the criticalities older workers face in the labour market. The third section addresses the relationship between older workers and technological innovation with a focus on technological innovation as an opportunity and a challenge. The fourth paragraph explores the data selected from a EUROSTAT dataset in order to understand the level of digital qualifications of older workers and the difficulties they face in undertaking training and re-skilling. Finally, the author focusses on the analysis of active labor policy measures and interventions to enable older workers to remain in the labour market
