Palinsesti materiali e immateriali per la riconfigurazione di una città priva di sembianze storiche

Il contributo propone l’anamnesi di una città che esteriormente non mostra la sua storia, negata da processi evolutivi che hanno trasformato profondamente le sue connotazioni originarie stravolgendole, occultandole nell’attuale struttura urbana. Il problema di come far riemergere visivamente i segni del passato si è posto più volte nello studio di Pescara, città adriatica ricostituita nel 1927 dall’unione di due borghi situati sulle sponde dell’omonimo fiume che segna il suo destino e la sua antica genesi. Osservando la città attuale è difficile immaginare che essa possa aver avuto un impianto storico rilevante. Gli interrogativi che si pongono su come comunicare e far riemergere il patrimonio storico cancellato dalle mutazioni urbane, trovano risposte nella ricomposizione delle impronte materiali e immateriali, dedotte da documenti, narrazioni, immagini che contribuiscono a riconfigurare una memoria visiva desunta dalle reminiscenze del passato rapportate alla città attuale.The contribution proposes the anamnesis of a city that externally does not show its history, denied by evolutionary processes that have profoundly transformed its original connotations, distorting them, concealing them in the current urban structure. The problem of how to visually re-emerge the signs of the past has arisen several times in the study of Pescara, an Adriatic city reconstituted in 1927 by the union of two villages located on the banks of the homonymous river that marks its destiny and its ancient genesis. Observing the current city it is difficult to hypothesize that it may have had a significant historical structure. The questions that arise on how to communicate and bring out the historical heritage erased by urban mutations, find possible answers in the recomposition of material and i mmaterial impressions, deduced from documents, narrations, images that help to reconfigure a visual memory drawn from the reminiscences of the past related to the current city.
