The management of large-scale monitoring school buildings is generally a complex issue for public administrations. At the regional scale, it is necessary to select the most vulnerable buildings before working on them. This paper presents a methodology to design a Quality Detection Platform (QDP) and specify an Application (APP) for large scale visual survey linked to a centralized web platform for data capture and processing in the field of R.C. school buildings. The APP provides useful information for a detailed classification of structural problems. After data acquisition, the obtained information is ranked in the QDP in order to start the auditing process for the assessment of the criticalities. Hence, the APP is the basic support of the QDP for large scale monitoring of public buildings and constitutes an excellent and low cost information source for risk and maintenance management, useful for civil protection and prevention. The integrated system composed by the APP and the QDP realizes an efficient support for building storage data, inspection and diagnostics purposes.
