Starting from the historical and theoretical relationship between philosophy and grammar, the essay examines the role of ‘speculative grammar’ in Heidegger’s thought. After having broadly reconstructed Heidegger’s basic oscillation between liberation and the overcoming of grammar, the essay analyzes in particular the relevance of Heidegger’s reflection on the genitive case in the context of three specific discursive practices, that is, ways of listening to the language (division, turning, inflection).
