The essay explores how the “evenemential” trend in historical sociology – -embodied by Abbott, Sewell and Griffin most of all – addresses the relationship between explanation and narration, through the theoretical framework of the problem of structuration (Abrams). Given the monographic character of this paper, Griffin will be both a privileged source from the historiographic point of view and an object of systematic study in order to enhance his attempt to formalise the sequences of historical events through the original elaboration of an explanatory model: the Event Structure Analysis.

Abstract
The essay explores how the “evenemential” trend in historical sociology – -embodied by Abbott, Sewell and Griffin most of all – addresses the relationship between explanation and narration, through the theoretical framework of the problem of structuration (Abrams). Given the monographic character of this paper, Griffin will be both a privileged source from the historiographic point of view and an object of systematic study in order to enhance his attempt to formalise the sequences of historical events through the original elaboration of an explanatory model: the Event Structure Analysis.File in questo prodotto:
