Scholar of undisputed scientific and intellectual relevance, Jürgen Habermas left a decisive imprint on the philosophical and sociological debate through the whole arc of his academic and cultural activity, from 1952 to 2013. A short discussion of his intellectual path will show how he equally contributed to sociology and philosophy, usefully framing this bibliography. The wide range of interests of the german scholar does not affect the consistent direction in his reflections and research activities about the problem of a theory of society as conceptual framework for a theory of knowledge. As the great classics, he faced the problem of society as a whole, explaining the propositions, methods and aims as essential prerequisites for a research widening the disciplinary borders and stabilizing stimulating relactions between philosphical reflections (logic of the concept) and social sciences researches (logic of development). The concept of reconstructive science serves a double purpose: to place the general theory of society between philosophy and social science, and to fill the gap between the great theorization and empirical research with a single framework or, at least, with an appropriate model allowing comparison of theories. Philosophical and social science approaches are complementary, and in history of ideas their blending is common in every tradition inaugurating new research paradigms.INGLESE
