Sarajevo post-conflict Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is today a city in transition, collecting pieces from the madness of a nationalist war during the 1990s addressed to break up the city and the most representative architecture of Bosnian cultural, social and identity values. The end of the conflict has inaugurated an equally complex and painful season: the city is still finding the balance between the need to remember and commemorate its past, and the need to look and move ahead. In this moment of great fragility the urban voids acquire new and different meanings: they are traces of a collective memory but also opportunities to shape a new identity. The Marijn Dvor neighbourhood, considered to be the new city centre of contemporary Sarajevo, has turned into an urban laboratory of experimentation, where the premises for an authentic rebirth of the city may see the light of day.

Abstract
The Marijn Dvor neighbourhood, considered to be the new city centre of contemporary Sarajevo, has turned into an urban laboratory of experimentation, where the premises for an authentic rebirth of the city may see the light of day.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
